The South Tyrolean gastronomic tradition is establishing itself as one of the most interesting to rediscover, both by virtue of its raw materials and the more modern explorations that some local restaurants are making of it. We advise our guests to immerse themselves in the Ladin tradition by savouring some typical dishes of our rural tradition, such as dumplings with goulash, 'crafuncins' (spinach crescents), 'Spätzle', 'Grosti y craut' or typical desserts such as Strudel and apple fritters.

In the Vives restaurant in Ortisei you can savour all these recipes and many more in an intimate and comfortable ambience. In the Tubladel restaurant, on the other hand, you will find the quality of refined cuisine in a typical mountain atmosphere. For a very special experience, we also recommend the gourmet pizza at the Turonda restaurant in Ortisei.

Closer to Chalet Villa Carolina you will instead find the La Posta restaurant, recommended for meat lovers. For a truly unique experience, we recommend booking a dinner at Paratoni, where you can enjoy a set menu with several traditional local dishes. In Selva di Val Gardena you can also dine at La Tambra for excellent meat and pizza.

But the new frontiers of gastronomy also move to our favourite peaks: for an unforgettable experience we recommend the Baita Sofie restaurant with panoramic views of the famous Fermedes. On the other hand, at Passo Sella, Baita Comici will serve you excellent fish dishes, from raw fish to first courses, enjoying a truly unique experience at the foot of Sassolungo. Another secret and exclusive refuge is Il Fienile Monte, the new annex of the Salei refuge.
